Full Bloom

Full Bloom is a close-up study of a sunflower, inviting the viewer beyond its familiar form into the intricate detail of its centre. Drawn to the interplay of light and shadow, Samara explored how the golden petals catch the light while deeper tones settle into their folds, creating depth and movement. The centre became a focal point, rich with layered texture that reveals itself over time. Working in oil and acrylic allowed her to build both luminosity and structure, balancing softness with fine detail. While the sunflower is often seen as a symbol of warmth, this piece speaks more to its quiet strength and complexity, encouraging a closer, more considered look.
